Werewolf Half-Breeds

Updated: May 23, 2022

Werewolves typically are mated with fellow werewolves. However, there are occasions where a werewolf's mate will be of another race, or they have taken a lover from another race that resulted in offspring. These offspring are known as half-breeds.

Identifying a Half-Breed

No matter what race, a werewolf creates offspring with the following traits will always indicate a half-breed.

  1. Unique hair pigment. This may display itself as full hair color or in streaks in their natural hair color.

  2. Unique eye pigment. This may display itself as the entire iris or a blending of a more natural color based on genetics.

Consistent Half-Breed Traits

  • A half-breed with a wolf spirit strength is scaled to be just above that of their werewolf parent. For example, if a Delta sires a half-breed, their offspring would be of Gamma level strength.

  • A half-breed wolf's strength is otherwise scaled to match its fated mate. So if their mate is an Alpha/Luna ranked wolf, no matter their werewolf parent's rank, their wolf would match their mate.

Werewolf/Human Offspring

The most common half-breed is that of a werewolf and human. While it is exceedingly rare that a werewolf is fated to a human, they are more often taken as lovers by werewolves than other races.

  • A werewolf/human offspring has a 50% chance of being born with a wolf spirit.

  • The half-breed will have a fated mate if born with a wolf spirit.

  • If not born with a wolf spirit, the half-breed has a chance of a fated mate. The opportunity is higher than that of an average human, but not much.

  • If a human female bares a wolf spirit offspring, they will reject the child after their first shift. Humans are often unable to accept the existence of the supernatural.

  • If the female is a werewolf and the child is born without a wolf spirit, they will raise the child no matter what.

Werewolf/Witch Offspring

Like a werewolf/human pairing, it is rare for a witch to be the fated mate of a werewolf. However, witches are often drawn to the power of werewolves and will become a werewolf's lover.

  • A werewolf/witch offspring's chances of having a wolf spirit vary based on gender. A male offspring will always have a wolf spirit, while a female offspring has a 40% chance of possessing a wolf spirit.

  • If born with a wolf spirit, the offspring will have a fated mate.

  • If born without a wolf spirit, the offspring has the same chance as a human to be mated to a werewolf.

  • Whether born with or without a wolf spirit, all the female offspring are raised by their witch mother. The male offspring will also be raised by their witch mother. Witches leverage the power of the wolf spirit that, in female offspring, blends with witch powers for their casting.

Werewolf/Demon Offspring

The second most common half-breed is that of a werewolf and a demon. The chance of a werewolf being mated to a Demon is only slightly higher than a human pairing. Demons do not on their own have mates; choosing their mates. As such, they are more inclined to have relations with other races.

  • A werewolf/demon offspring has a 40% chance of being born with a wolf spirit. The powers of a Demon side tend to override the wolf gene.

  • If born with a wolf spirit, the offspring has a 50% chance of having a fated mate.

  • If not born with a wolf spirit, the offspring will not have a fated mate.

  • If the female is a wolf and the offspring are born without a wolf spirit, they will reject their child, sending it to be raised by the Demon.

  • If the female is a Demon and the offspring are born with a wolf spirit, they will reject the child sending it to be raised by the Werewolf.

Werewolf/Angel Offspring

The second least common half-breed is from the mating of a werewolf and an angel. The chance of a werewolf being mated to an angel is zero. It has yet to be documented that a werewolf's fated mate was an angel. The two races rarely cross paths, but there are incidents where the coupling of this pairing creates offspring. Angels otherwise do not have fated mates.

  • A werewolf/angel offspring has a 25% chance of being born with a wolf spirit. The Angel powers generally overpower the wolf gene.

  • If born with a wolf spirit, the offspring has a 40% chance of having a fated mate.

  • The offspring will not have a fated mate if born without a wolf spirit.

  • If the female is a wolf and the offspring are born without a wolf spirit, the mother will reject the baby and send it to be raised by the Angel father.

  • If the female is an Angel and the offspring has a wolf spirit, the mother will send the child to be raised by the Werewolf father.

Werewolf/Vampire Offspring

The least likely pairing is that of a werewolf and vampire. These two races cannot stand each other as they find the other's scent repugnant. There is zero chance of a werewolf being mated to a vampire. The birth of this half-breed is extremely rare.

  • A werewolf/vampire offspring has a 5% chance of having a wolf spirit.

  • If born with a wolf spirit, the offspring has a 10% chance of having a fated mate.

  • The offspring will not have a fated mate if born without a wolf spirit.

  • All werewolf/vampire offspring have a Vampire father and a Werewolf mother, as female Vampires cannot reproduce.

  • If the offspring are born without a wolf spirit, the mother will reject the baby and send it to be raised by the Vampire father.
